SASSI HOLFORD 2012 CAMPAIGN
I have had many requests to talk through the makeup look that I created for the 2012 Sassi Holford bridal advertising campaign – shot by photographer Simon Powell, the makeup look is a sophisticated classic look that will suit most brides.
It is always a pleasure to work with Sassi and her team – a dream job for me as being surrounded by her gorgeous gowns is divine!
If you love this makeup look and would like to create it for your wedding day, here is a list of the products that I used:
BASE & CHEEKS:
To prep the skin I applied COLLIN RESULTIME Collagen Gel, ROC eye cream, Creme de la Mer Lip Balm.
I next applied the Daniel Sandler Re-texturising Face Primer
The foundation used was CHANEL Perfection Lumiere, using a foundation brush
To conceal under eye shadows I used the LANCOME softening long-lasting softening concealer
With the small amount of foundation I had left over on the back of my hand, I mixed it with a small amount of the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in shade OPAL and applied it just above the cheekbones.
Next, take the 2 Daniel Sandler Watercolour Bronzers in shades FIJI and RIVIERA and to add contour to the face, I applied the darker shade FIJI just under the cheekbones and on the cheekbones themselves, applied the RIVIERA shade, for a sophisticated and subtle glow to the face.
Next, take the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Blusher in shade HUSH PINK and using your fingertips, apply a small amount to the apple of the cheek, for a pretty bridal glow.
To set the makeup, I applied a tiny amount of powder where needed – I used the Daniel Sandler Invisible Blotting Powder on the T-ZONE and eyelids.
EYES:
Make sure that you define your brows using a matte powder/ soft pencil or, if your brows are very thick, use a brow gel to groom them (BECCA’S brow gel is great).
To create this eye makeup look easily, take 3 eyeshadows – the Daniel Sandler Eyeshadows in Charcoal Plum, Sunrose, Spun Sugar and the Loose Eyeshadow (Eye Delight) in shade Pink Gold. Apply the Spun Sugar as a higlighter to the brow bone, the Sunrose Eyeshadow to the eyelid and then in the contour and outer corner of the eye use the Charcoal Plum. Blend well and then apply a tiny amount of the loose Pink Gold Eyeshadow to the eyelid to make eyes pop.
Line the eyes with the Daniel Sandler Velvet Waterproof Eyeliner in shade Grey Velvet. I lined them top and bottom, just do the top eyeliner if you want a softer look.
Curl the lases and apply a good waterproof black mascara – try Estee Lauder or Clinique as there formulations are very long lasting.
LIPS:
Treat yourself to a special lipstick on your wedding day – you will be taking it out of your bag for touch ups throughout the day and it is the one day where a luxurious, glamorous looking lipstick will make you feel even more special! I used the GUERLAIN ROUGE Automatic Lipstick in shade 161 Cherry Blossom – which is a soft, pretty, natural pink shade which compliments the cheeks and isn’t overpowering – this makeup look is really about the eyes so keep cheeks and lips soft, or the whole look will look too much.
